Rapid HTAs of two medical devices released in Tuscany in August 2026

Tuscany remains the most active Italian region in conducting HTA for medical devices, with HTA-based recommendations influencing regional adoption and procurement decisions.

Under Regional Decree No.17185 of July 29, 2026, the Tuscany Regional Healthcare Authority released two new rapid HTA reports. Both devices received a favorable opinion on the purchase:

  • ProACT adjustable prosthesis for the treatment of male urinary incontinence (by Uromedica);
  • H1 HIP Resurfacing cementless ceramic-on-ceramic hip joint prosthesis (by Embody), intended for use in young patients with early-stage hip osteoarthritis who have an active or athletic lifestyle, high functional demands, and adequate bone quality and density.
