Why We Offer This Program

At MTRC, we believe that market access knowledge should be widely shared across the MedTech industry.

The training program is part of our knowledge-sharing initiative for the MedTech community, helping professionals better understand the complexities of reimbursement and healthcare funding.

Participation in the quarterly cohort is free of charge for professionals working in the medical technology industry.

The full program content and materials represent a value equivalent to €3,500.

Participants typically dedicate approximately 1 hour per week to the program.

Upon completion, participants receive an MTRC Certificate of Completion or Attendance.

Curriculum Overview

The program covers the core foundations of market access for medical technologies in Europe.

Fundamentals of Market Access and Payment Models

Overview of healthcare payment mechanisms, procedure coding, DRG systems, and add-on reimbursement for medical technologies.

Health Technology Assessment and Market Access Pathways

Understanding HTA processes and how they influence payer decisions and reimbursement frameworks.

Clinical Evidence in Market Access

How clinical evidence supports reimbursement decisions, including study design, evidence hierarchies, and bias mitigation.

Health Economic Evidence

Core concepts such as cost-effectiveness analysis, QALYs, and willingness-to-pay thresholds.

Country-Specific Market Access Systems

Detailed case studies of major European markets: England, Germany, France and Italy. Participants learn how reimbursement systems operate in practice, including payment flows, stakeholders, and approval pathways.

Optional Hands-On Program Task

Participants may choose to complete a practical market access analysis project.
