Publication Digest: Domains in Health Technology Assessment of Digital Health Technologies: A Mapping Review

MTRC shares the most relevant and impactful publications in the field of market access and HEOR for medical technologies in Europe through its Publications Digest. 

In a recent publication, Dietz et al. examined the domains used in HTA of digital health technologies (DHT) as part of the European Digital Health Technology Assessment (EDiHTA) project. Across 44 studies, methodological documents, and HTA reports, the authors identified 13 domains and found broad consistency in established areas such as clinical effectiveness, safety, economic, and organizational aspects. In contrast, environmental, technical, legal and regulatory, and some ethical and human aspects were addressed inconsistently. The findings support a shift from developing new frameworks toward refining existing approaches and clarifying evidence requirements for DHT HTA.
