A regular update of the Danish SKS coding system from July 1, 2026

The Danish Health Data Authority (Sundhedsdatastyrelsen) quarterly updates the Health Care Classification System (Sundhedsvæsenets Klassifikations System, SKS). The latest version was published in mid-June 2026 to come into force on July 1, 2026.

Among other changes, 54 new procedure codes concerning cardiovascular, diagnostic imaging, gastrointestinal, interventional radiology, men’s health, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, surgical procedures, dermatology, and some other fields were introduced.

Some examples of newly added codes are provided below:

• BFFB03B Radiofrequency ablation for atypical atrial flutter;
• KJKA24 Laparoscopic subtotal cholecystectomy;
• KKED82A Focal HIFU treatment of prostate;
• KKCW96A Placement of intravesical delivery system;
• ZZ4241H Donation of oocytes to unspecified recipient;
• KJAF15 Laparoscopic preperitoneal operation for umbilical hernia;
• BNQD1A Cosmetic non-ablative laser treatment (mild wrinkle treatment).
