Rapid HTAs of four medical devices released in Tuscany in June 2026
Tuscany remains the most active Italian region in conducting HTA for medical devices, with HTA-based recommendations influencing regional adoption and procurement decisions.
Under Regional Decree No.12033 of May 29, 2026, the Tuscany Regional Healthcare Authority released four new rapid HTA reports on June 4, 2026. The assessed technologies covered cardiovascular, dermatology, orthopedics, and postoperative pain relief in thoracic surgery.
One device received a favorable purchase recommendation: Bioretec’s Activa osteosynthesis system with absorbable pins and screws, indicated for certain chondral and osteochondral detachments.
Other devices received unfavorable opinions for the purchase.
