New and Emerging Health Technology Fact Sheets from June 2026 in Spain

In June 2026, the Andalusian Health Technology Assessment Department (AETSA) and the Basque Office for Health Technology Assessment (OSTEBA), working under the Spanish Network of HTA Agencies (RedETS), released several New and Emerging Health Technology Fact Sheets in cardiovascular, e-health, ENT, gastrointestinal, interventional radiology, neuromodulation, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and radiotherapy fields.

The purpose of New and Emerging Health Technology Fact Sheets is solely to gather the minimum necessary information to inform the prioritization of new and emerging technologies to be evaluated by the RedETS network. Therefore, these documents do not contain all the required information and have not been developed to guide healthcare policy decision-making or clinical practice.

Some examples of published New and Emerging Health Technology Fact Sheets are provided below:

  • Therapeutic intravascular ultrasound system for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension (by AETSA);
  • Irreversible electroporation for the treatment of liver metastases from colorectal cancer (by AETSA);
  • Image-guided surface radiotherapy for the non-invasive treatment of non-melanoma skin cancer (by AETSA);
  • System for the identification and monitoring of acquired infections (by OSTEBA);
  • Custom 3D-printed tubes for laryngectomy (by OSTEBA);
  • Peripheral neurostimulator for the treatment of urge urinary incontinence (by OSTEBA).
