Peripheral nerve stimulation

In June 2026, two HTA agencies working under the Spanish Network of HTA Agencies (RedETS) released several New and Emerging Health Technology Fact Sheets in cardiovascular, e-health, ENT, gastrointestinal, interventional radiology, neuromodulation, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and radiotherapy fields. The purpose of the Fact Sheets is to inform the prioritization of new and emerging technologies for evaluation by RedETS.

On July 17, 2022, the Austrian Institute for HTA (AIHTA) published four decision support documents, which provide recommendations regarding the inclusion of new medical interventions in the catalog of individual medical services of the performance-oriented hospital financing (Leistungsorientierten Krankenanstaltenfinanzierung, LKF) model, as well as three updates to previous decision support documents.

In December 2018, the Andalusian Agency for Evaluation of Health Technologies, AETSA, has released a report on the effectiveness and safety of electrical stimulation of peripheral nerves for treating chronic refractory pain.
