April 2026 recommendations about add-on reimbursement for medical devices in France

The French National Authority for Health (HAS) released new recommendations on the registration of medical devices and medical aids in the List of Reimbursable Products and Services (LPPR) following the April 2026 meetings of the National Commission for the Evaluation of Medical Devices and Health Technologies (CNEDiMTS). Favorable opinions were issued for the add-on reimbursement of 14 new devices and for the extension of indications for three devices. Opinions concerned multiple fields, including cardiovascular, diagnostic imaging, ENT, e-health, endocrine, interventional radiology, nephrology, neuromodulation, orthopedics, spine, peripheral vascular, and pulmonology.

New procedure and diagnostic codes added to the private reimbursement schedule in England

On December 12, 2024, the Clinical Coding and Schedule Development (CCSD) working group, which develops and maintains procedural and diagnostics nomenclatures for private payers in England, published Bulletins 199 and 095 with changes to be implemented no later than February 10, 2025. Five new procedure codes related to diagnostic imaging, robotic surgery, and peripheral vascular, as well as one new diagnostic code, were introduced.

New procedure and diagnostic codes added to the private reimbursement schedule in England

In late May 2021, the Clinical Coding and Schedule Development (CCSD) working group, which develops and maintains procedural and diagnostics nomenclature for private payers in England, has published Bulletins 0177 and 0074 with changes to be implemented not later than August 01, 2021. Five new procedure codes related to diagnostic imaging, ENT, breast reconstruction, and gynecology, and nine new diagnostic codes were introduced.

MTRC has released European reimbursement report for peripheral intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) in 11 EU countries

Report presents summary of the reimbursement situation in Europe for peripheral intravascular ultrasound. Analysis covers iliac, femoral and popliteal arteries. Analysis is provided for admitted and day case hospital care. The analysis covers procedure coding, payment mechanism, reimbursement tariffs and policy restrictions in 11 EU countries including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.

MTRC has released European reimbursement report for coronary imaging techniques

A 150-page reimbursement report covers angiography, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), fractional flow reserve (FFR), cardiac computer tomography (CCT), optical coherence tomography (OCT) for angina and myocardial infarction in hospital settings. Stand-alone application of imaging / diagnostic methods and use in conjunction with percutaneous coronary intervention procedure was considered. The analysis covers procedure coding, payment mechanism, reimbursement tariffs and policy restrictions in 11 EU countries including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
