MTRC Presents the MedTech EU Market Access Attractiveness Index 2026

MTRC, a specialist European MedTech market access consultancy, has developed the MedTech EU Market Access Attractiveness Index (MAAI) – Edition 2026, a structured ranking of European countries based on the ease, predictability, and speed of obtaining reimbursement, payment access, and routine hospital use for medical devices. 

The Index evaluates the practical market access realities faced by manufacturers when launching hospital medical devices in Europe. It considers key factors such as procedure coding, DRG and add-on reimbursement mechanisms, national and regional policy, health technology assessment, evidence requirements, innovation payment schemes, and regional access complexity.

The Index also highlights an important strategic finding: in European MedTech market access, predictability and evidence burden are often stronger drivers of attractiveness than speed alone.
