The 2026 open call for topics related to national screening programs in the UK

The UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC), which advises ministers and the NHS in all four UK nations on matters related to screening, has confirmed the dates for the 2026 open call for topics.

Proposals may be submitted between July 1 and September 30, 2026.

The UK NSC conducts calls for topics every two years. During the open call period, individuals and organisations may submit proposals concerning:

  • New screening topics;
  • An early update for topics considered by the UK NSC within the past three years;
  • Modifications to, or the cessation of, existing screening programmes.

Proposals may cover either population screening or targeted screening topics.
