MTRC Webinar: Europe’s Most Attractive MedTech Markets: The MTRC Reimbursement, Policy & HTA Attractiveness Index 2026
European countries differ substantially in how easy, predictable, and fast it is to obtain reimbursement and achieve routine hospital use for medical devices. A market that appears commercially attractive may still involve lengthy reimbursement processes, demanding evidence requirements for HTA, fragmented regional decision-making, or uncertain reimbursement outcomes.
MTRC invites MedTech professionals to a seminar presenting the methodology and key findings of the MedTech EU Market Access Attractiveness Index 2026, a structured comparison of 12 European markets for hospital-based medical devices. The Index assesses six dimensions: market access barriers, predictability, time to access, evidence requirements, availability of innovative payment schemes, and regional complexity.
During the seminar, we will explain:
- How the Index was developed and how the countries were scored;
- Why predictability and evidence burden may be more important than speed alone;
- Why Germany, Denmark, and Switzerland lead the 2026 ranking;
- How the findings can support country prioritization, launch sequencing, evidence planning, and realistic time-to-revenue expectations;
- The limitations of the Index and how it should be applied to individual technologies.
The seminar will be relevant to professionals working in Market Access, Reimbursement, HEOR, Commercial Strategy, Business Development, Portfolio Management, and investment decision-making within MedTech companies.
Important scope note: the Index focuses on hospital medical devices, particularly implants and invasive technologies. It does not currently cover digital technologies, in-vitro diagnostic tests, or medical aids used in home settings.
