In August 2026, the Spanish Network of HTA Agencies published the annual List of New and Emerging Technologies for 2025. The evaluations of a total of 66 technologies, covering multiple areas such as cardiovascular, diagnostic imaging, e-Health, endoscopy, gastrointestinal, in-vitro diagnostics, interventional radiology, men’s health, urology, neurology and neurosurgery, neuromodulation, neurovascular, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pulmonary, radiotherapy, spine, and surgical procedures, have been assigned for evaluation to the relevant HTA bodies.

On July 30, 2026, the Swiss Federal Statistical Office (OFS) released the systematic version of the Swiss Classification of Surgical Interventions (CHOP) for 2027. The CHOP classification is now available in German and will come into force on January 1, 2027. Multiple new procedure codes were introduced in various fields, including digital therapeutics, endoscopy, gastrointestinal, obstetrics and gynecology, nephrology and urology, men's health, neuromodulation, orthopedics, and peripheral vascular.

On July 15, 2026, the Austrian Institute for HTA (AIHTA) published two new decision support documents and one update to a previously issued assessment. The reports provide recommendations regarding possible inclusion of new procedures in the reimbursement catalog of individual medical services (MEL). The assessments concerned cardiovascular, interventional radiology, and neuromodulation fields.

Between January 1 and June 1, 2026, seven MedTech-related mini-HTAs were initiated in Norway across orthopedics, neurology and rehabilitation, in vitro diagnostics, interventional radiology, diagnostic imaging, and e-health. These assessments are conducted as part of Norway’s framework for the managed introduction of innovations, known as “New Methods”.

In April 2026, the Canary Islands Healthcare Evaluation Service is working on several HTAs, including evaluations in e-health, IVD, neuromodulation, obstetrics and gynecology, and some other fields.

On January 30, 2026, the Institute for the Hospital Remuneration System (InEK) published the list of innovation funding (NUB) requests submitted by hospitals in 2025. The medical technologies of cardiovascular, endoscopy, extracorporeal, gastrointestinal, neuromodulation, peripheral vascular, and other technology groups obtained a positive status 1.

The French National Authority for Health (HAS) released new recommendations on the registration of medical devices and medical aids in the List of Reimbursable Products and Services (LPPR) following the December 2025 meetings of the National Commission for the Evaluation of Medical Devices and Health Technologies (CNEDiMTS). Four favourable opinions were issued concerning add-on reimbursement for medical devices in the ENT, neuromodulation, and peripheral vascular fields.

On November 28, 2025, the entity managing the DRG system in Switzerland, SwissDRG, published the final (billing) version of the 2026 DRG system. In total, 19 new DRGs related to cardiovascular, ENT, gastrointestinal, neurology and neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, and some other fields were introduced. Also, four new add-on reimbursement categories were added.

In June-July 2025, Health Technology Wales (HTW) accomplished one full appraisal on implantable tibial neuromodulation devices for urinary incontinence. In addition, seven Med Tech-related Topic Exploration Reports were published in the e-health, diagnostic imaging, in-vitro diagnostics, neurology, and radiotherapy fields.

As of August 2025, the Centre for Assessment of Medical Technology in Örebro region in Sweden is working on health technology assessments in several areas, including in-vitro diagnostics, neuromodulation, and orthopedics.

As of August 2025, the Scottish Health Technology Group is developing four Med Tech-related HTAs in cardiovascular, diagnostic imaging, neurology and neurosurgery, neuromodulation, and orthopedics areas.

In June 2025, Belgian INAMI/RIZIV updated the List of implants and invasive medical devices. Four new reimbursement codes were added to the List in relation to heart valve replacement. Several Nominative lists of brands were updated as well in the fields of neuromodulation, neurovascular, orthopedic, and cardiovascular.
