MTRC Team Co-Authored a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis for a Diagnostic Test
The MTRC team has co-authored a new scientific publication on the diagnostic performance of the MeMed BV test in emergency department and urgent care settings. The paper evaluates the ability of MeMed BV to distinguish bacterial infections from viral or other non-bacterial causes and reflects MTRC’s active involvement in high-quality clinical research, systematic literature reviews, and meta-analyses.
The article, titled “Diagnostic Performance of the MeMed BV Test to Distinguish Between Bacterial and Viral or Other Non-Bacterial Causes Amongst ED and Urgent Care Patients: A Systematic Review with Meta-Analysis,” was published in Diagnostics on June 22, 2026. MTRC team members Sandeep Moola, Hasik PN, Andrey Maslov, and Oleg Borisenko co-authored the paper in collaboration with researchers from the University of Liverpool and Johns Hopkins University.
The study found that MeMed BV demonstrated consistently high diagnostic accuracy, with pooled sensitivity of 91% and specificity of 92%, supporting its potential role in improving clinical decision-making and antibiotic stewardship in acute care settings.
This publication highlights the expertise of the MTRC team in evidence synthesis, diagnostic assessment, and publication-level scientific research. It also demonstrates MTRC’s continued commitment to supporting evidence-based healthcare decisions through rigorous systematic reviews and meta-analyses focused on innovative medical technologies.
