New and Emerging Health Technology Fact Sheets from April 2026 in Spain
In April 2026, Canary Islands Healthcare Evaluation Service (SESCS) and Health Sciences Institute in Aragon (IACS), working under the Spanish Network of HTA Agencies (RedETS), released several New and Emerging Health Technology Fact Sheets in cardiovascular, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, e-health, in-vitro diagnostics, men’s health, obstetrics and gynecology, peripheral vascular, robotic surgery, surgical procedures, and some other fields.
The purpose of New and Emerging Health Technology Fact Sheets is solely to gather the minimum necessary information to inform the prioritization of new and emerging technologies to be evaluated by the RedETS network. Therefore, these documents do not contain all the required information and have not been developed to guide healthcare policy decision-making or clinical practice.
Some examples of published New and Emerging Health Technology Fact Sheets are provided below:
- Transcatheter ventricular remodeling system by Ancora Heart for the treatment of congestive heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (by IACS);
- Bioabsorbable synthetic matrix for temporary wound closure and tissue regeneration (by IACS);
- Artificial intelligence for aiding the diagnosis of interstitial lung disease by Imvaria (by IACS);
- Circulating tumor cell biomarker in colorectal cancer with peritoneal metastases (by IACS);
- Transvesical suprapubic resection of the prostatic adenoma (by SESCS);
- Robotic surgical system for minimally invasive total hysterectomy with or without salpingo-oophorectomy for benign disease or prophylactic surgery (by SESCS);
- Single-port robotic surgical system for the treatment of nutcracker syndrome (by SESCS);
- Soft, biocompatible silicone implant for reconstruction of the areola–nipple complex in breast cancer patients (by SESCS).
