Health Economic Publication Digest: The costs, cost-effectiveness and methods for evaluating clinical registries: a systematic scoping review

MTRC shares the most relevant and impactful publications in the field of market access and HEOR for medical technologies in Europe through its Health Economic Publications Digest.

In a recent publication, Pisavadia et al. examined the economic value of clinical registries through a systematic scoping review of economic evaluations, costing studies, and grey literature. 

Across 33 included sources, the authors found that clinical registries were consistently cost-effective or cost-saving, with reported returns on investment ranging from 1.5 to over 2,250 per £1 invested. The study highlights registries as high-value digital health infrastructure investments, while calling for more standardized costing methods and greater integration of equity analyses.
