First revision of the new Swiss outpatient reimbursement system submitted for approval
On June 2, 2026, the OAAT AG and the tariff partners submitted the 2027 revision of the comprehensive outpatient reimbursement system to the Federal Council for approval.
This revision is the first development of the new outpatient reimbursement system, which consists of the TARDOC catalog of individual service tariffs (version 1.5) and the outpatient flat rates (version 1.2), and came into effect in January 2026. The main focus of the first revision was on nuclear medicine, hand, maxillofacial, and pediatric surgery, and pathology for the outpatient flat rate system, and on pediatric medicine, as well as emergency and urgent care, for TARDOC.
The system is subject to regular revisions. According to OAAT, a large portion of the extensive feedback and valid proposals received during the annual application process for the further development of the comprehensive outpatient system was incorporated directly into the currently submitted version.
The revised version is planned to come into force on January 1, 2027, if the Federal Council grants its approval. OAAT and the tariff partners are already working on the 2028 version.
