Consulting Operations Manager (full-time, remote)

MTRC, a leading boutique Med Tech market access consultancy in Europe, is looking for a Consulting Operations Manager.

MTRC has 22 full-time employees and multiple part-time consultants. Offices are located in the UK (HEOR), Spain (Market Access), and Bulgaria (Billing and Contracting). Most of the employees are home-based. MTRC provides support to large Med Tech corporations (80% of the business) and SMEs (20% of the business) in the fields of market access analysis and strategy, Evidence Synthesis (value dossiers and literature reviews, reimbursement and HTA submissions), and Health Economics. MTRC provides regular support to 19 out of the top 30 global medical device companies.

The Consulting Operations Manager ensures that all client and internal production work is delivered on time, within the planned effort, and with controlled quality, reporting directly to COO of the company. The role is focused on consulting operations excellence rather than ownership of specific expert methodologies.

We are looking for an experienced operations manager with a background in consulting, science administration or medtech, comfortable managing multiple parallel projects, and able to build and optimize processes in a pragmatic, efficient and technically savvy manner. Additional background in quality assurance could be a strong benefit.

The position is home-based (Europe only), reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer of the company.

Responsibilities include:

Capacity and staffing

  • Running a 4–8 week capacity forecast and flagging when commercial promises exceed delivery capacity

  • Coordinating staffing and workload across Reimbursement, Health Economics, and Evidence Synthesis Departments

Delivery and timelines

  • Owning the project status dashboard and running weekly production reviews

  • Making sure delays are spotted and escalated before they become client problems

Effort, margin, and scope

  • Tracking planned vs actual effort and flagging low-margin projects

  • Watching for scope creep and supporting the enforcement of pricing rules and mark-ups

Quality and process

  • Ensuring checklists, Quality Control gates, and biweekly client updates are followed

  • Managing escalations to Department Leads, COO, and Director, and tracking unresolved issues

Analytics and improvement

  • Building and maintaining production analytics and dashboards

  • Identifying recurring bottlenecks and improving processes, templates, and handovers

Requirements:

  • 7–12+ years of experience in project, consulting, medical writing, CRO, HEOR, or knowledge-work delivery operations

  • Experience managing multiple parallel projects with deadlines, budgets, staffing, and quality gates

  • Strong Excel, project dashboard, and workload-planning skills

  • Medtech, market access, HEOR, or life-sciences consulting exposure preferred

  • Customer-centricity

  • Excellent written and spoken English

  • Strong, confident communication and interpersonal skills

Candidates should send their CVs and a short (2–3 minute) video self-presentation to [email protected]
